Older version of add-ins might be cause this problem. If update any newer version of office ,We need to uninstall the older version of office in the respective computer.

Otherwise it might be cause this problem. It will affect all application like word,Excel,Power point and outlook also.

Some times,While we update the windows at the time it will may cause the problem. So we need to check the windows updates whether it will fully updated or not.

Some Office and add-ins can cause to crash or fail to start. Some add-ins may be troublemakers on their own, or may only cause problems when installed with other add-ins.

If the Office application starts, there’s a problem with the add-in you unchecked. We recommend you visit the company website for the add-in to check for an updated version you can install.

If there isn’t a newer version or if you don’t need to use the add-in you can leave it unchecked or remove it from your PC.

How to fix it :

              * GO to the Run Command and in that box type “control”

              * Choose “Programs and features”

              * Click on the Office program and click Change

* Click Repair and then click Continue.

* Let the repair finish, which could take a while

* Finally Restart your computer

How to fix Microsoft Word has stopped working in Windows ?

The main reason for microsoft word stopped working are add  ins,anti-virus and abby find reader. Abby find reader will block the add ins.

Certain add-ins in Word might cause the problem. To resolve this problem, try the following method.

Add-in’s are a very common cause why you could get such errors. What we need to do is disable the trouble-making add-in.

Procedure:

Run “winword.exe /a ” This will prevent Word from loading its add-ins. When we asked if we want to open Word in Safe Mode

Now it will open Word in Safe Mode. Now click on File tab and select Options.

Start Word, click File, and then click Options.

Click Add-Ins, and then click Go.

Clear the Send to Bluetooth check box, and then click OK.

Now try to open any Word document. It should work.

If the problem still occurs, try disabling other add-ins to troubleshoot the problem.

Or If it doesn’t help you can try to reset Office Registry settings to default

Method 1:

Delete the Word Data registry key.

Open regedit and locate the following registry subkey, as appropriate for the version of Word

Word 2010: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Data

Word 2007: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\12.0\Word\Data

Word 2003: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\11.0\Word\Data

Word 2002: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft \Office\10.0\Word\Data

Click Data, and then click Export on the File menu.

Name the file Wddata.reg, and then save the file to the desktop.

Click Delete on the Edit menu, and then click Yes. Exit Registry Editor.

Method 2:

   Delete the Word Options registry key.

To delete the Word Options registry key, open Registry Editor and locate the following registry subkey, as appropriate for the version of Word

Word 2010:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Options

Word 2007:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\12.0\Word\Options

Word 2003:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\11.0\Word\Options

Word 2002:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\10.0\Word\Options

Click Options, and then click Export on the File menu.

Name the file Wdoptn.reg, and then save the file to the desktop.

Click Delete on the Edit menu, and then click Yes. Exit Registry Editor.

These are the way we have to resolve the word application so that it will functioning properly.
