How do I copy all file names in a folder to notepad?


To copy all the files name in a folder to notepad, Follow these steps:

Steps 1:

Hold on the “Shift” key, and Right click on the folder, which contains the list of files.

Step 2:

You can see the “Open Command Window Here” option, Click on the “Open Command Window Here” Option.

Step 3:

Once you select the “Open Command Window Here” option. You will get the command Prompt window.

Step 4:

Once you get the command Prompt window. Type “dir /b > filenames.txt” (without quotation marks) in the Command Prompt window, and Press “Enter” On the keyboard.



You will get a notepad file, which contain all the name of the files in the folder as an order, on the selected folder as “filenames.txt”, you can also change the name of the files in the command, other than “filenames.txt”

Same steps can also be followed for a set of folder names in a folder.
